DEWA launched the Smart Living Programme 1.5 at Gitex Global 2025. The upgrade gives customers better tools to manage their electricity and water usage. It uses Artificial Intelligence to compare a customer’s consumption with similar efficient homes in their neighbourhood. Based on this comparison, the programme provides personalized recommendations to help customers reduce their usage and match the lower levels of their neighbourhood.

At GITEX Global 2025, DEWA is showcasing pioneering AI, digital, and immersive technologies that enhance smart transformation and support sustainability across the energy sector.#DEWAAIINEVERYTHING#GITEXGLOBAL#DEWAATTGITEX

According to Dr. Ali Rashed Bin Ghaith Alsuwaidi, Chief Innovation Officer at DEWA, these insights are highly customized and accessible through the DEWA app.

The updated feature shows each customer’s carbon footprint. This links their electricity and water usage directly to environmental impact and encourages more sustainable habits. DEWA is using proactive communication through its app to guide users, including optional pop-up messages and gamified learning tools that make understanding consumption easier and more engaging. The programme provides real-time insights and personalized recommendations based on AI analysis that is helping residents see where they can reduce usage and save resources.

This AI-driven solution is the first of its kind in the Middle East. It empowers residents to manage their consumption effectively, lower bills and make smarter choices. By combining technology and sustainability. The programme helps every household contribute to a greener Dubai and adopt a responsible and resource-efficient lifestyle.
