Ai Noise Detection Radars to Reduce Noise Pollution
Dubai is committed to ensuring ease of Public Transportation and that noise pollution is reduced as much as possible because it indicates an issue to the Public. To ensure daily road trips are peaceful, Dubai Police is going to install Ai radars (noise detection radars) on roads across the emirate to detect violators and reduce disruptive sounds from vehicles and motorcycles. The authority will gradually increase the number of radars across various parts of Dubai.
According to the Dubai Civility Committee, “These radars will monitor and modify vehicle noise, loud audio systems in cars and unnecessary use of horns.”
This move is a part of ongoing efforts to ensure people will get a peaceful life in Dubai and make Emirate as one of the world’s most peaceful and civilized cities.

Assistant Commander in-chief, Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei said that Ai radars are part of Dubai police’s smart technology system for traffic management to measure noise level accurately, identify the source of noise and document violations. These radars also monitor the excessive use of horns, identify vehicles with loud audio systems and automatically record the violation.
Drivers who break the noise rules will be found guilty and fined up to DH2000 and receive 12 black points on their driving license. Release fees for impounded vehicles could be up to DH1000.
The Commander-in-chief highlighted that Dubai police will continue to monitor and track vehicles causing problems through traffic patrols and smart systems. In addition, comprehensive awareness campaigns will be conducted to educate the public about the risk of noise and how it affects public health and community safety. He also said that implementing these systems is not to issue fines but to educate drivers about the importance of obeying traffic rules. Maintaining calm on the roads is a societal responsibility that contributes to enhancing the comfort of residents and visitors.
Dubai aims to remain a global model for cleanliness and safety for community life. With these AI radars in place, the city intends to make its streets quieter, safer, and more pleasant for everyone, while using technology to enforce traffic and environmental rules efficiently.
