Dubai’s traffic system is already very advanced, but Gitex may disrupt the city with its sheer volume of attendees. To address this issue, Dubai Police unveils a new technology to detect the traffic violations without needing help from any human. This breakthrough AI traffic system can help the citizens of Dubai, and it is showcased at the Gitex Global 2025 itself. But, was it important?
Residents of Dubai are concerned about road safety as the traffic is getting heavier with each passing day.
In 2025, more than 91% of Dubai residents experienced insane traffic jams—mostly during the peak hours. And GITEX will make matters worse in the city, mostly around the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) which is where the main venue is located. What Can The AI Intelligent Traffic System Pull Off?
The system can detect the five key offences, violating the Dubai Traffic rules, including:
- Using a mobile phone while you drive the car
- Not wearing a seatbelt
- Trying to obstruct the flow of traffic
- Stopping the vehicle in the middle of the road without any particular reason
- Failing to maintain the safe distance between vehicles
The platform can also provide live updates about the recorded violations and monitor the number of vehicles, offering an overview of the traffic situation across the city.
What’s more interesting about this app is that it generates a detailed report by hour, day, and year to enable the Dubai Police to make smarter decisions for the next year. It also helps in apt traffic planning and faster emergency response.Managing traffic for an additional 200,000 visitors for GITEX from around the world is not a cakewalk and Dubai Police is aware of this fact.
