Emirates introduces Starlink In-flight Internet Access
Exciting news for travelers, there’s a big change on the horizon for in-flight internet access. It was recently announced at the Dubai Airshow 2025 and on November 17, 2025, Emirates revealed on its official website the partnership between Emirates and Elon Musk’s international internet company. Emirates promises to deliver high-speed internet on their planes. According to the company, they will be bringing high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi internet access to their flights starting in the coming days. On November 23, 2025, the company’s first Starlink-enabled Boeing 777 commercial flight will take off. Now people will be able to stay connected while flying around the world without any hassle.
While this flight won’t be the first to feature Starlink internet, it will be the beginning of something new. In the coming months, an ambitious initiative by Emirates to provide high-speed internet to the company’s entire fleet of 232 wide-body aircraft will be launched. That implies that most Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft will be adapted to achieve it.
However, it will take time to modify that many planes to ensure that passengers will be provided with the most advanced satellite internet technology. In any case, the Emirates team has plans to implement Starlink on all of its planes over the next two years. According to the company, beginning in February 2026, they will set up all the necessary technological improvements in 14 of their in-service planes each month.
As People are enjoying high-speed fibre optic internet on the ground these days. Although Starlink is one of the most advanced satellite internet systems by Elon Musk’s company, it still can’t match the same speed as fibre. However, it is very useful, as it provides the fastest internet on flights where regular internet connections are not available, allowing more people to stay connected.
Starlink will soon allow Emirates passengers to access free high-speed WiFi while flying 40,000 feet above the ground, which is one of the major improvements in in-flight connectivity. As per Starlink’s website, the service right now offers download speeds of at least 80 Mbps and upload speeds of 15 Mbps, and this technology is capable of achieving much higher speeds. These performances were only possible for ground-based internet connections in previous days. Now Emirates make it possible for their passengers to enjoy fast and reliable internet access during flights.
Starlink WiFi will be free for Emirates Passengers in every cabin with just one click.
