Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is right around the corner bringing the much-needed golden glow to the city. In 2025, Diwali falls between October 18 to October 23, with the main event being Lakshmi Puja is expected to be on October 21.

Dubai offers a lot of fireworks, cultural shows, shopping deals, and special dining experiences across the city, mostly at major landmarks.

Dubai’s citywide “Festival of Lights” events are set by the host The Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE). Diwali 2025 is one of the most anticipated multicultural events in UAE with a lot to offer the ones celebrating it.

Best Places For Diwali Celebrations In Dubai

Whether you are visiting the city or you reside in Dubai, if you are looking forward to celebrating Diwali in Dubai, you can check out these places to get unparalleled experience.

    Dubai Festival City Mall

One of the most visited places during Diwali is the Dubai Festival City Mall. It hosts great fireworks along with the famous IMAGINE water and light show. If you are looking to visit a place where you can enjoy music, lights, and Indian performances — you can visit the mall and experience your best Diwali in the city.

To enjoy the best water and light show experience, you can visit the place early to grab the perfect spot for the fireworks.

    Burj Khalifa & Downtown Dubai

Who doesn’t want to watch Burj Khalifa light up at least once in their lifetime? Burj Khalifa turns to vibrant light and sound shows, including a special message for those celebrating the occasion on the skyscraper.

The broader Downtown area features the spectacular Dubai fountain show choreographed to Indian music. Along with that, you can expect the Waterfront Promenade at the Dubai Mall which offers great views of the illuminated skyline.

    Global Village

Global Village turns the Diwali celebration into a vibrant and cultural event known as the Diwali Mela. It features traditional performances, fireworks, and some authentic Indian cuisine. Typically, these fireworks are scheduled for the evenings or at around 9 pm.

Global Village is a great place to enjoy the sweets, jewelry, and handcrafts — which is why many residents in Dubai call the place mini India.

    Al Seef Dubai, Creek

You can head to Al Seef to enjoy Diwali in a more cultural setting. You need to find the traditional lanterns, peaceful fireworks, and diya decorations.

If you are looking forward to celebrating the Diwali at Dubai Creek, you can check out the “Noor Festival of Lights” from the 17th October to 19th October, 2025.

    Desert Safari Diwali Night

Desert Safari allows people to celebrate the uniqueness of Indian culture with a blend of adventure and festivity. There are many tour operators that typically create special packages which include theme decorations, live entertainment, and delish Indian cuisine.

When it comes to live entertainment, you can expect some Bollywood-style dance shows, traditional musicals acts, belly dance, and Tanoura shows.

You can also get an overnight package to spend the night under the stars, away from the noise and artificial lights of the city. You can enjoy a quieter, more magical experience.

Expect Great Celebrations Across The City

When celebrating Diwali in Dubai, you can not just expect these few events. But, you can also celebrate the festival across the city. There are many rangoli competitions and cultural performances in different malls across the city.

There are Indian music nights in bars as well as lounges too. But, the best part is that you can also celebrate the occasion by visiting the Henna corners, lantern installations, and food stalls in the community parks near your home.

From exciting fireworks to cultural parades, you can expect a lot of surprising and planned events across the city which makes it one of the most diverse cities in the world.
